L. JEAN FÉINICS graduated with a PhD in Neurobiology and Behavior from the University of Washington in 1998. For a number of years, Dr. Féinics worked as a scientist and educator in the USA and abroad. She now coaches former foster youth towards college success while giving inspirational talks about her life. Her spare moments are devoted to riding her motorcycle, playing with the two street dogs she adopted while living overseas, and visiting her daughter. Jean is also working on her next book.
“I love what I do because each day I have the opportunity to make an impact in the life of someone else. I did not end up as a negative statistic like many former foster youth, which is why it feels so great to help others with lived experience in care achieve their full potential.” -Jean
